one point perspective
6-7th grade learned how to use one point perspective to draw 3:D cubes and create a "box" or room for perspective items (study of from). Students also learned how to use value to create volume with crayon, pencil or paint.
Students took these lessons and created a set of blocks that had a short word that sat inside a "box". They then got bonus points for using correct shading and value on the blocks. On the back "wall" of the box we got in a bit of our "writing" requirement by creating a texture and pattern by repeating our word again and again. They really really liked learning how to draw using perspective!
